CHICAGO (Sept. 14, 2023) – The American Society of Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM) named North American Partners in Anesthesia winner of the 2023 ASHRM Patient Safety Award for its Anesthesia Risk Alert (ARA) program. This award recognizes organizational excellence in patient safety and celebrates the efforts of risk management professionals in promoting patient safety across the health care continuum.
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) of Melville, N.Y., is a single-specialty anesthesia company whose 6,000 clinicians serve nearly 3 million patients annually. Its patient safety intervention ARA program identifies high risk patients prior to receiving an anesthetic, enabling a clinician to perform mitigation strategies that are proven to reduce risk.
Since the program was rolled out in 2019 to all NAPA clinical sites including 500 hospitals, health systems and ambulatory surgery centers, the program has demonstrated success and sustainability by decreasing the number of critical events.
The organization will be recognized at ASHRM’s Annual Conference Oct. 3, 2023.
