Celebrating 40 Years

The American Society of Health Care Risk Management is celebrating 40 years of collaboration and leadership in health care risk management. Since its inception in 1980, when only 300 members of the then-emerging profession met for the first time, ASHRM has grown in size and influence. Today ASHRM is the largest health care risk management organization in North America and is widely recognized as the united voice of the profession.

For 40 years, ASHRM has connected members, delivered professional education support and developed safe and effective practices widely used in hospitals across America. Thanks to ASHRM members' commitment and volunteer contributions, ASHRM is well-suited to lead the health care risk management profession into the future.
