Health care professionals often face significant emotional and psychological challenges when involved in adverse events, a phenomenon known as "second victim" syndrome. This webinar aims to provide essential strategies for supporting those who care for others, helping to prevent burnout, improve well-being, and foster a culture of safety within health care organizations.
Through this session, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to recognize and address the emotional needs of caregivers affected by adverse events. We will explore the principles of a culture of safety and Just Culture, examining how these frameworks can drive a more supportive and resilient health care environment.

Speaker:
Jason Tabor, MBA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, CPHRM, has worked in health care since 2002. He is a registered nurse and has worked in a variety of nursing leadership roles in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently, he is the Manager of Risk and Regulatory Management at City of Hope, a national leader in cancer care, with the founding site located in Duarte, California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado and his Master of Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. He strives to be a lifelong learner and maintains 2 professional certifications: Nurse Executive Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC) and Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM). Jason is passionate about creating a culture of safety and a Just Culture where staff feel safe in reporting adverse events and safe catch events with the goal of improving health care systems that guide practitioners in providing safe and effective treatment for patients.
