In this engaging webinar, "Enhancing Patient Safety in Ambulatory Care: Physician Participation in Weekly Safety Huddles and Iterative Improvement Processes," participants will explore proven strategies for elevating patient safety and improving care outcomes through physician-driven involvement in safety huddles. This session will provide you with the tools and knowledge to initiate and sustain weekly safety huddles in your medical office, creating an environment where proactive safety discussions and iterative improvement processes are at the forefront.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Develop proficiency in initiating medical office system huddles and fostering leadership engagement both at  a national and local level to enhance overall organizational effectiveness and patient care outcomes
  2. Cultivate the skills to offer effective support and encouragement to medical office care teams, foster psychological safety within the workplace, and promote a culture across all disciplines that encourage event reporting, including near misses
  3. Develop proficiency in advancing and sustaining safety huddle practices, ensuring integration across all areas of a health system

Speaker:

Denise Ingram, has a BSN degree from the University of South Alabama and served in the positions of charge nurse and nurse manager in acute care and the emergency department for 11 years. As a quality and patient safety coordinator for 7 years  in the acute and post acute space she implemented several quality initiatives and provided regulatory support. She has been in her current role for 4 years as National Director of Patient Safety where she leads national level safety programs and improvement initiatives.

 

 

Jason Reichenberg, MD, MBA,  is a Professor in Dermatology at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. He has lectured internationally on the mind-body connection, improving patient interactions, and change management.  

He received his MD at Boston University, his dermatology training at the Mayo Clinic, and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.  He serves as Chief Medical Officer of Ascension Medical Group, a multispecialty practice of over 1000 providers in Texas, where he has focused on improving the quality of clinical care and patient safety.

 

Ashley Hildebrand, MD, is the Medical Director for Ambulatory Services at Ascension St John in Oklahoma. She graduated with her doctor of medicine degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and went on to specialize in Family Medicine, graduating from the In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to her current role, Ashley provided “womb to tomb” care for ten years at St John’s Riverside clinic and at St John Medical Center. She currently works alongside St John clinic providers to improve health outcomes of the community and to positively impact care delivery.
