As a proven leader in the 800+ bed acute care hospital, she exemplifies teamwork and collaboration. Kathy is a trusted resource for guidance on various issues, particularly in patient relations and the complaint and grievance process, ensuring that patient safety remains a top priority.

Prior to transitioning into risk management, Meredith served as a Nursing Director at a community-based hospital, bringing a unique blend of clinical expertise and strategic oversight to their current role. Their comprehensive understanding of health care operations and risk mitigation strategies has been instrumental in enhancing organizational resilience and patient safety. Meredith is known for their analytical acumen, leadership skills, and commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Gina Sarrel, MSN, RN, Risk Manager & Patient Relations Manager - Morristown Medical Center, Atlantic Health System, has over 31 years of nursing experience in Emergency Department (ED), trauma, and critical care, she brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to my role as a Risk Manager at an 800 plus bed, Level One Trauma Center in New Jersey. For the past two years, she has focused on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency. Her collaborative approach involves working with multidisciplinary teams to implement best practices and ensure compliance with health care regulations.

She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Leadership and Education, which complements my clinical expertise and enhances my ability to lead and educate within the health care environment. Prior to her current role, she served as an Administrative Manager for eight years, where she developed strong leadership and project management skills. Her diverse background in both clinical and administrative settings equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of health care operations.
