Speaker Bios

Mary Lacey Byrd RN, MSN, CPHRM, CPEN, is a Risk Manager for the Physician Enterprise at Piedmont Healthcare.  She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Administration and Transformational Leadership from Kennesaw State University.  Mary Lacey is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management and a Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse.  She currently volunteers on the Georgia Society of Healthcare Risk Management Board of Directors as the Internet Chair.  Mary Lacey is also a member of a number of other professional organizations, both nationally and state sponsored.  Mary Lacey has over 11 years of health care experience, with over four years’ experience in Risk Management.  She currently supports and drives an Enterprise Risk Management model in a Physician Enterprise that consists of over 300 practices and over 3,000 employed providers.  Mary Lacey is a published author through the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Foundation with a focus in workplace violence prevention in health care.  Her white paper is titled “Workplace Violence Training and Prevention in Hospital-Based Healthcare: Implications for Nursing and the Interdisciplinary Team in the Hospital”.

Amber Wright, RN, MSN, is a Risk Manager for the Physician Enterprise for Piedmont Healthcare. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. She is a member of the Georgia Society for Healthcare Risk Management and American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Amber has 17 years of health care experience, with a background in critical care nursing. She currently supports and drives an Enterprise Risk Management model that consists of over 300 practices and over 3,000 employed providers.

Ashley Grimes, RN, MSN, is a Risk Manager for Piedmont Healthcare.  She currently supports the Physician Enterprise for the Augusta Hub and two hospital campuses (Piedmont McDuffie and Piedmont Augusta Summerville).  Ashley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of South Carolina Aiken in Aiken, SC and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA.  She is a member of the Georgia Society for Healthcare Risk Management and American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.  Ashley has 12 years of experience in health care with a background in cardiovascular nursing and management.  In her role as risk manager, she supports 40 ambulatory practices, along with inpatient, emergency, and ancillary departments at the hospital campuses.
