ASHRM 2022 Health Care Risk Management Professional of the Year has experience as a Nurse and Lawyer who has worked Ambulatory and Research Hospital care areas. Paul John D'Aquila has worn a lot of hats and is excited to share his experience with ASHRM. Join the conversation as Paul talks about professional growth, mentorship and how to become an award-winning risk professional.
No two risk professionals share the exact same experience. In the words of Fran Charney, ASHRM’s director of risk management, “If you’ve met one risk professional, you’ve met one” and Paul D’Aquila RN, JD, CPHRM is one stand out risk professional. Paul is the Risk/Litigation Management Director of UCLA Health, has over 20 years of experience as a risk professional, and was the 2022 winner of the ASHRM Health Care Risk Management Professional of the Year. With his wealth of experience, Paul was a natural choice but when the notification of being the award recipient popped up, he thought it was a phishing attempt! Join Paul in an interview discussion focused on professional growth, mentorship, enhancement of risk skills, elevating the profession and what it means to be named the risk management professional of the year.
