Join us for "Workplace Violence in Health Care: Focusing on What’s Most Important" where we tackle the pressing issue of workplace violence within health care settings. Discover why traditional approaches fall short and how to refocus your strategies on what truly matters.

In the high-stakes environment of health care, workplace violence poses a significant threat to both caregivers and patients. In our webinar, "Workplace Violence in Health Care: Focusing on What’s Most Important," we delve into the critical aspects of violence prevention often overlooked in traditional approaches.

Participants will understand the root causes and dynamics of workplace violence in health care settings, specifically how bad experiences and unmet expectations can breed distrust and resentment towards caregivers, escalating the risk of aggression and targeted violence. Conventional violence prevention programs prioritize low probability events, zero tolerance campaigns, and punitive legal actions. Instead, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the genuine foundations for protecting caregivers, often neglected in traditional frameworks.

By the end of this webinar, participants will emerge equipped with the knowledge and insights needed to develop more effective workplace violence prevention strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of both caregivers and patients in health care settings.

At the conclusion of this session, learners will be able to:

  • 1. Participants will learn how bad experiences and unmet expectations are creating a new level of distrust and resentment toward caregivers, and how some common caregiver responses can damage relationships and increase the likelihood of aggression and targeted violence.
  • 2. Participants will develop and understanding of the shortfalls that often result from focusing one’s workplace violence prevention program on elements like low probability events, zero tolerance campaigns, codes of conduct, and punitive legal actions.
  • 3. Participants will be able to describe the real foundations for protecting caregivers from violence, which are often not prioritized aspects of one’s program
