New Primer Now Available for ASHRM Members and Nonmembers

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) ensures patients have access to emergency services, regardless of their financial situation. Risk professionals and organizations must develop policies and protocols at their health care organizations to ensure they are compliant with EMTALA to participate in Medicare. ASHRM developed this primer to assist risk professionals in developing those policies and protocols.

The ASHRM EMTALA Primer provides an overview of EMTALA, relevant regulations and Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and practical tips for health care risk professionals.

Download the free EMTALA Primer to access advice on how it applies at your organization.
